Methodology
ANGEO1 employs a rigorous multi-source approach to geospatial intelligence analysis.
Data Sources
Our primary data sources include freely available satellite imagery from the European Space Agency’s Sentinel programme, NASA’s Landsat and MODIS archives, and commercially available high-resolution imagery. We complement remote sensing data with official publications from Angola’s Instituto Geográfico e Cadastral, the Ministério dos Recursos Minerais e Petróleo, and international bodies including the United States Geological Survey and the British Geological Survey.
Analytical Framework
Each analysis published on ANGEO1 follows a structured framework that includes spatial data acquisition, ground-truth verification where available, cross-referencing with geological and environmental databases, and peer review by our editorial board. We employ standard GIS methodologies and remote sensing classification techniques.
Limitations
ANGEO1 provides analysis based on the best available public data. Cloud cover, seasonal variation, sensor calibration, and data recency may affect accuracy. All figures should be treated as indicative estimates rather than absolute measurements. We clearly identify uncertainty margins where applicable.
Updates
Our datasets are updated as new satellite passes become available and official publications are released. Time-sensitive analyses carry publication dates and are clearly marked when data vintage may affect conclusions.
